A competitive defusal map for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that was made during #blocktober 2020. The design of the map is a play on the classical three-lane structure. Terrorists have a typical A, B and mid to push. But behind these there is a second mid in the backline of the Counter-Terrorists. The map allows for very quick rotations and dynamic battles.
Interviewing a couple of different players before starting gave me the impression that most players had verticality in competitive maps. It makes sightlines too wide and doesn't allow the player to properly check all of their corners. I decided to take on the challenge of designing a vertical map for players who don't like verticality. Vertical angles are limited and can be checked in a easy swoops that follow from horizontal angle checking.
